Pinback button promoting Douglas MacArthur for president, 1952. When MacArthur returned from Korea, relieved of his command by President Truman for insubordination, he received a hero's welcome and was courted by conservatives to run for president. The waning of public acclaim following a damaging Senate report on his conduct, and his own unresponsiveness quickly dampened their hopes and MacArthur retired to obscurity. Campaign items for MacArthur are scarce.
