Pinback button promoting Alfred Landon for president, 1936. Litho with felt backing. Issued by Business Women's League for Landon. Size refers to button.
In his failed bid for the White House in 1936, Kansas governor Alf Landon had the ardent support of the business community, including the relatively small demographic of Depression-era women business owners. The Business Women's League, based in Vermont (one of only two states Landon carried), claimed several hundred members nationwide.
We acquired this uncommon pinback (and a celluloid variant; see item #5534) from the daughter of the national secretary.
