Truman Dollar
Code  3877 Size  6.5 x 3 in. Grade  Choice/XF Price  $12.95
Satirical currency opposing Harry Truman and promoting Dwight Eisenhower for president, 1952. Womans Brigade for Eisenhower.

Condemns Truman administration for "Waste, 5 per Centers, Mink Coat, Deep Freeze, Graft." Verso features the proposed Truman Library and says the note is "good for one red herring."

As 1952 approached, it was widely assumed that President Truman would be a candidate for reelection, and Republicans focused their attacks on the unpopular incumbent. Even after he dropped out of the race following defeat in the New Hampshire primary, the attacks continued, as Republicans tried to connect Democrats in general with Truman's administration. This note was in circulation probably as early as 1951.
