Realphoto postcard, settling a wheelbarrow bet on the outcome the presidential election, 1912.Depicts two men in a frontier town, one, the winner of the bet, being transported in a wheelbarrow pushed by the other, the loser. Inscription verso, "Bill Nally paying a bet on election when Teddy Roosevelt ran for president. To Ed Deere. Nov. 26, 1912."
Wheelbarrow bets were once common, and were occasionally photographed, but this is the only candid shot we have seen of one actually being paid. A little gem of Americana!
