Swearing-In Ceremony
Code  13081 Size  22 x 15 in. Grade  Choice/XF Price  $375.00
Official souvenir of the Swearing-In Ceremony of President Gerald R. Ford, August 9, 1974. Printed on heavy rag paper with gold-embossed presidential eagle top left and color portrait of Ford bottom right above HIS AUTOGRAPH. Marked "Presentation copy" bottom left. Contains the text of the presidential oath of office ("so help me God" added), and Ford's remarks following the ceremony, which includes the famous passage, "Our long national nightmare is over." Issued immediately after Ford assumed office upon the resignation of Richard Nixon, and given to members of Congress and officials in his administration. The signature is genuine and not facsimile or secretarial.

Historically important artifact of one of the pivotal moments in our national history—the installation of the only un-elected American president—and certainly the ultimate Ford item! We acquired several from a small hoard left over from the ceremony, and are making them available at a special price, while they last. You'll find them selling for upwards of $1000 in the autograph market. A real piece of history, and a unique investment opportunity!
