Palm card promoting George Wallace for governor of Alabama, 1970. Friends of George C. Wallace, Clayton, Alabama.
Verso cites Wallace's record of "Educational Excellence" and "Economic Progress" during his earlier term in office, and urges Alabamans to return Wallace to the governor's mansion.
Wallace had been prevented from running for a second term in 1966, and instead backed his wife as a surrogate. By 1970, his supporters had gotten the state constitution amended, and he was permitted to run again.
