Poster celebrating President Franklin D. Roosevelt and promoting the Allied cause in World War II, 1941. Frank T. Perone, Atlantic City, New Jersey.
Color artwork depicts Roosevelt before a flag and map of the United States; inside the map are images evoking Freedom, Defense and Recovery (which also happen to be the initials F.D.R.).
We have seen the graphics used on a postcard, but we had no idea a poster was issued until this one turned up at a recent APIC show. Terrific patriotic item issued shortly after America's entry into the war.
