Phonograph record, YEAR OF DECISION, containing a recorded message from Ronald Reagan to the citizens of California, 1966. Reagan for Governor Committee, Los Angeles. Includes original envelope for mailing, addressed to a couple in Alhambra. Two copies of the record were found inside, and look to be playable. Dimensions refer to envelope; record plays at 33 RPM.
Already at this early stage in his political career, Reagan's suave, theatrically trained vocals and superlative communication skills were recognized as his greatest assets—and were capitalized on by his campaign, as demontrated by this unique audio mass-mailing.
