By 1970, the anti-war movement had become more radicalized, transitioning from "dissent to resistance" according to an SMC statement. With chapters on most college campuses, the SMC called for acts of resistance on Halloween. Protests and vigils were held, and in some places protesters were arrested for trespassing on military installations.
