Ribbon promoting woman suffrage, c. 1915. Printed silk.
Less than a century ago women were second-class citizens, denied the most basic political right: the right to vote. It took generations of activists to change the system, and it was not until the second decade of the 20th century that genuine reform came within sight.
We offer a scarce ribbon from around the turn of the last century, of the type worn by suffragettes when marching in parades.
