Shot glass, an advertising novelty featuring the 1896 Republican and Democratic presidential candidates, 1896. Molded crystal glass. Unlisted in Lindsey.
Portraits of McKinley and Bryan and the legends, GOLD and SILVER, in raised circles on opposite sides; measured for tablespoons, and amount of whiskey for Ladies and Gentleman (those who drink to excess indicated by a boar at the top of the glass); Parry maltese-cross emblem, the legends, BUGGIES, INDIANAPOLIS, and, LOOK FOR THE PUZZLE.
Very unusual political advertising glass, the first example we have cataloged. Excellent condition (only a few miniscule chips in the rim, barely worth noting) and certainly quite rare!
