A mid-century assemblage

This month we have a selection of items from the high water mark of the last century, from Roosevelt to Kennedy. In terms of material culture, this period offers collectors lots of options, from buttons to automobile accessories. Primary colors were popular, and bigger was better. It was a time of great unity, and paradoxically, strong partisanship. There were hardships but also a general sense of optimism about America, and that is reflected in the material.

It was just announced that the Arizona APIC show, normally held this month but canceled due to the pandemic, will now happen on May 1, in Chandler. Victor will have tables and merchandise, and as usual, will be actively buying.
