Bust of Abraham Lincoln, c. 1863. Parian porcelain. One-piece construction.
Parian ware is a type of biscuit porcelain made to resemble the white Parian marble of antiquity, first produced by Mintons of Staffordshire and later copied by several firms during the late 19th century. This distinctive example dates to Lincoln's presidency, and is in superb condition.
