Pinback button advocating support of lunch counter demonstrators engaged in "sit-ins" to oppose racial segregation in the South, 1960. Issued by Congress of Racial Equality (CORE).

CORE was one of the pioneering Civil Rights organizations (founded in 1942, inspired by the campaigns against British rule in India led by Gandhi). The organization was known for using nonviolent tactics to counter segregation and racism, and played a leading role in the lunch counter demonstrations Greensboro early in 1960. This button, one of the classics of the movement, was used in fundraising and worn by a supporter.
