16mo, 48pp. Front cover pictures Eugene Debs. Marxist analysis of Deb's trial and conviction for violating the Sedition Act of 1918, published shortly after his case was denied on appeal to the Supreme Court.

By urging resistance to the draft when the U.S. entered World War I, Debs was prosecuted and became the most high profile dissident incarcerated under Sedition Act. In 1920, he mounted his final and most successful presidential campaign from jail. Broad feeling against the war and the outgoing Wilson administration helped put the Republican Warren Harding in office. Harding commuted Debs' sentence to time served but refused to grant a pardon. Debs was released on Christmas Day, 1921. His supporters disseminated this rare pamphlet.
