Circular soliciting orders for the Silver Badge, advocating the free coinage of silver, 1896. On a letterhead illustrating the badge, datelined Shawnee, Ohio, July 13, 1896. In part: "This is not a flimsy tin, brass or celluloid badge, but one that is as solid and substantial as the Silver Movement."

The Free Silver movement was closely identified with the candidacy of William Jennings Bryan; wearing such a badge would signify your support for Bryan.
