Excerpt from description in Collins, Threads of History:One hundred and fifteen scarves were made size 20" square, 3000 were made size 32" square, and given to the boxholders at the Inaugural Ball. Mrs. Nixon saw the first scarf at her first press conference, in New York. She gave one of the larger size scarves to each member of the Cabinet.
