Does Legacy Americana sell originals or reproductions?
Legacy Americana warrants the authenticity of every item we sell. This guarantees, without exception, that anything you buy from us is completely original and not a copy, replica or reproduction. If authenticity is ever questioned by a recognized authority in historical Americana, you may return the item, and we will refund the purchase price.
How does Legacy Americana acquire its inventory?
We have established close relationships with dealers and collectors all over the country. Our reputation for honest, fair dealing means we get offered a lot of material. We have amassed one of the largest Americana inventories in the world, and are constantly acquiring more. We make several buying trips each year, attending major shows and auctions, and we do a lot of trading on eBay. We enjoy buying this stuff as much as selling it...maybe even more!
What condition will the item be in?
Every item in our catalog is vintage; by definition, natural wear or age patina should be expected and tolerated, to a greater or lesser extent depending on the age and rarity of the item. That said, we make a concerted effort to acquire only superior examples, and cull from our inventory examples we deem inferior. Unless noted otherwise, you can assume the item will be in excellent condition, free of noticable defect or damage.
If they’re original, why are many items so inexpensive?
The short answer is volume. One thing that sets us apart is we acquire our inventory almost exclusively by outright purchase, and we are never intimidated by large quantities. This eliminates a supply chain, and consequently enables us to implement highly competitive pricing. We put our buying power to work for our customers, and the result is savings across the board, but especially on the lower end of the price spectrum.
Will you accept a lower price?
We have a "fair but firm" pricing policy. Unless we are running a sale, we do not discount based on invoice totals. We may lower prices on items that have not sold after a period of time, or send them to auction, but we do not negotiate prices privately. Wholesale pricing is available on select items with a minimum purchase; please inquire.
Do you offer volume discounts?
We offer volume discounts on hundreds of items in our catalog, with price breaks at 10, 25 and 100 (based on availability). Dealers are encouraged to inquire about resale opportunities.
Are credit card payments secure?
We provide a certified SSL (encrypted) connection for transmission of sensitive data, including credit card account information. Our hosting platform (3dcart) meets current Visa Payment Application Best Practices.
Is my personal information protected?
Legacy Americana respects your privacy and your need for confidentiality. When you entrust us with sensitive personal information, we assume responsibility for ensuring the privacy and security of that information. While no system in this age of interconnectedness is immune to security breeches, we have put in place strong physical, electronic, and procedural safeguards to prevent the unauthorized access to your personal information.
Can I make changes to my order after it is placed?
We strongly recommend reviewing your order and making any necessary changes before it is submitted. Once submitted, most orders are processed and shipped within one business day, and often the same day. Once shipped, changes cannot be made. If changes are necessary, it is best to contact us by phone (1-800-675-5838) as well as by e-mail, to ensure the message reaches us in time. Items can be removed from, but not added to existing invoices (a new order must be created). With rare exceptions, address changes require cancellation and reprocessing. Orders may be cancelled at any time prior to shipment, but no order may be cancelled after shipment (See Return Policy)
How soon can I expect my order to arrive?
Most orders ship within one business day, and often the same day if processed before noon local time. You will receive a confirmation e-mail when your order has shipped, and tracking may also be provided. Delivery time varies, depending on the destination and service selected. Standard service is typically 3-5 business days within the continental United States, and 7-14 days elsewhere. Guaranteed 2-Day and Overnight service is available to most U.S. addresses.
Do you charge sales tax?
Arizona residents must pay sales tax unless they present an exemption certificate from the Arizona Department of Revenue (Form 5000).
Do you offer extended payment and layaway?
We understand that, on occasion, you may need extra time to cover your Legacy Americana purchases. With a 15% deposit, we can defer payment on any invoice for 30 days. Layaway can be arranged for invoices of $250.00 or more, with 25% down and installments due every 30 days (auction invoices excluded). To arrange extended payment or layaway, please make inquiry at time of purchase.
Do you offer gift certificates?
We offer gift certificates in denominations of $25.00, $50.00, $100.00 and $1000.00. To redeem a gift certificate, enter the code at checkout, or provide it when you order by phone (requires account activation). Certificates must be redeemed in full, and cannot be applied to multiple orders.
If I am unhappy with my purchase, can I return it?
If you are less than fully satisfied with your purchase, just let us know, and you can return it for a refund or replacement. Returned items must be received at our facility within 30 days of purchase in the same condition sold. If the return is due to our mistake, we’ll reimburse shipping both ways. (See Return Policy)
How frequently is the website updated, and can I be notified of updates?
We’re adding items to our catalog almost daily, with major updates at least once a month. Customers are encouraged to check back often, paying special attention listings found under Recent Updates.
