The Johnson campaign was effective in painting Goldwater as a reckless warmonger, who if elected would threaten the human race with annihilation in a nuclear holocaust. The electorate was sufficiently spooked and sent the Arizona senator home in a landslide defeat. This classic button would have been worn by a Johnson backer in October.
