Herbert Hoover: 1928 Republican National Convention Press badge

Badge worn by a journalist at the Republican National Convention, Kansas City, 1928. Silvered metal, enamel, satin. Whitehead & Hoag hallmark. Decorative clasp in the shape of displayed eagle perched on a rectangular panel inscribed, PRESS, from which is suspended by gray ribbon, a drop with U.S. Capitol dome, fasces, and scroll inscribed, REPUBLICAN NATIONAL CONVENTION; a red, white and blue enamel shield bearing the date, 1928. This convention nominated Herbert Hoover for president. Excellent and scarce.
