The election of 1960 was a cliffhanger, and even the most ardent Democrat shyed from calling it for Kennedy until the votes were counted. By Inauguration Day, however, all this was forgotten. A vendor at the Inauguration sold this button to the young president's supporters who lined Pennsylvania Avenue, now smug in victory. A perennial favorite among collectors.
