The most strident anti-Soviet crusader during the tense years of the 1950s, Sen. McCarthy of Wisconsin was both admired and reviled for his sanctimonious interrogations of suspected Communists inside the government. The term "McCarthyism" became synonymous with political witch hunts and ad hominem attacks. Memorabilia from McCarthy's two campaigns for the Senate is hard to come by today, this being one of the few buttons we know of. An essential addition to your Cold War or modern political collection.
