Description
Paperweight promoting Theodore Roosevelt for president and Charles Fairbanks for vice president, 1904. Clear glass with bonded enamel. Graeser, Pittsburgh. Campaign paperweights using the Graeser process, in which a transfer image was fired to the underside of a glass blank using a white enamel glaze, were issued for the competing tickets in 1904 and 1908. Their colorful patriotic designs have long made them popular with collectors of both paperweights and politicals. Typically found with surface wear, this one, featuring the 1904 Republican ticket, shows almost no wear and is about as close to mint as the come!
