Although only four years younger than Nixon, Kennedy's perceived "youth and vigor" attracted record numbers of young adults to the Democratic ticket, and his campaign capitalized on his boyish charm and sex appeal. The countless student organizations for Kennedy attest to the effectiveness of the strategy. Many lifelong Democrats were made in 1960...and many wore this button.
