Medal promoting Winfield Scott for president, 1852. Copper. DeWitt WS 1852-1. Impressive circa 1860 restrike, less common than the originals in white metal. Scott was commander of Union armies upon the outbreak of the Civil War, and these were reissued for his admirers. UNC example with red luster in devices.
