Display card of 24 "Keep U.S. Out of War" celluloid buttons opposing American intervention in World War II, 1939. Buttons made by Philadelphia Badge Co., Philadelphia, with stated 1939 copyright at curl. Buttons measure 7/8" diameter. Card features an enlargement of the design on the buttons, with two rows of six pinned to either side. Buttons are excellent and card shows light handling wear.
Fully intact card, as was displayed in stores. From a hoard discovered in a basement in New Bedford, Massachusetts, a merchant's unsold remainder stock withdrawn following Japan's attack on Pearl Harbor in Dec. 1941 (prior to which the American public was strongly isolationist). We sell the buttons for $10 individually (see item 2668), so that comes to over $200 in value, plus the card!
